Purpose and positioning

Chairman Stephan Stokkermans spoke about the motivation and necessity behind the alliance, while also clarifying the organisation’s position within the existing industry landscape:

“We complement organisations such as Koninklijke Horeca Nederland and NBTC. While they operate across the hospitality sector more broadly, the alliance focuses exclusively on the strategic position of hotels.”

With that focus, the alliance aims to bring greater attention to hotel-specific challenges and strengthen the position of the Dutch hotel industry.

Key themes and audience discussion

Anita Bos then introduced the three central themes that form the foundation of Hotel Alliantie Nederland’s agenda. This was followed by a Q&A session moderated by Sander Allegro as part of the Independent Hotel Show programme.

Questions and reactions from the audience sparked an immediate discussion about the role of the alliance, its ambitions for the coming years and the ways organisations across the sector can become involved. The launch of the new website now also provides a central platform for that engagement.
